Course Overview

Effective health and safety management is vital for organisational success. It creates safer workplaces, lowers injury-related costs, and supports stronger productivity.

Without health and safety compliance, organisations face increased legal, financial, and operational risks.

HR professionals and managers play a key role in ensuring their organisations meet responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.

This virtual half-day course equips HR and managers with essential skills to build safer workplaces using simple, effective frameworks and practical tools.

This course gives leaders clear guidance on identifying hazards, managing risks, and putting practical health and safety systems into place. We will cover core health and safety foundations including a PCBU’s duties and responsibilities, hazard identification, risk assessment, worker engagement, incident reporting, and psychological safety.

Participants will learn the key components of a basic health and safety system and how to apply tools such as risk registers, improvement plans, and monitoring processes. Templates, examples, and checklists will be provided for immediate use after the course.

Our employment lawyer will provide expert guidance on meeting legal duties and reducing exposure to WorkSafe investigations and personal grievances.

We will address key questions such as: What must officers, managers, and workers do to keep people safe?  How can HR and managers evaluate risks and respond effectively to incidents? What does psychological safety mean in practice?
