This comprehensive series combines two popular half-day courses to help you manage staff performance, from informal feedback to formal processes and exits.
This two-part virtual series focuses on improving staff performance through to formal performance management and negotiated exits.
This series will be delivered virtually via Zoom over two half-day sessions:
Participants will gain confidence to address performance issues, create Performance Improvement Plans, and manage exits.
Performance management improves accountability, team performance, and organisational results. Yet many employers avoid it due to low confidence or concerns about legal risk.
In this comprehensive series, you will develop essential skills to improve performance informally and follow a fair, legally compliant formal process. The series also covers practical strategies for exit discussions, including negotiating settlements to reduce legal risk.
Managing Poor Performance
This session provides a clear overview of the performance management framework.
Delays in performance management harm productivity and can lead to costly dismissals without a proper process.
Learn how to prevent poor performance through coaching and feedback. You will identify your legal obligations when managing performance and learn how to prepare Performance Improvement Plans and conduct formal meetings.
We will also discuss outcomes for continued non-performance, including warnings and dismissal.
Negotiating Exits for Problem Employees
This session gives HR and managers a practical guide to exiting problematic employees through negotiation or mediation. Our employment lawyer will explain when to consider exit settlements and how to reduce the risk of personal grievances.
Participants will learn how to prepare for negotiation, assess risk, and navigate mediation. We will focus on resolving matters through a Record of Settlement and selecting terms that protect your organisation.
You will also consider how to protect confidential information, company property, and reputation in a negotiated exit.
